Is Hamock free?

Hamock is free to download and use. When a tenant pays you rent (or other fees) via Hamock, we collect a small service fee of 1% (capped at $10). We only get paid when you get paid

Should I use the app or website?

The Hamock mobile app is intended for landlords to setup leases, collect rent, and manage their properties. Tenants pay rent via the website

Why do I need to verify my identity?

In order to comply with federal laws and prevent illegal activity on Hamock, we are require landlords to verify their identites before they can accept rent payments on Hamock. We Partner with Stripe to securely collect and validate your information. We do not store your personal data, such as your address and SSN

How do I onboard a new tenant?

Tenants can sign up for free at hamock.app. To add them to a lease, invite them from the lease profile screen in the app. Once invited, tenants can accept the invitation through their online dashboard

How do I set up and manage rent collection through the app?

To collect rent payments, you will need to first create a lease agreement in Hamock. Afterwards, you can invite tenants to lease.

What should I do if a tenant has trouble making a payment?

If a tenant is having trouble making a payment, start by reaching out to them directly to understand the issue. Remember, ensuring timely payments is a shared responsibility between tenants and landlords. While Hamock provides tools to streamline payments, we’re not responsible for late or missed payments. Communication is key!

How does the AI assistant help with property management tasks?

The AI assistant helps with tasks like market research (property details and rental data), sending rent reminders, and providing legal advice on tenant issues. Keep in mind, it may make mistakes, and Hamock isn’t responsible for actions taken based on its guidance—always verify important decisions.
